Chapter 2

Someone should teach Hiruma what consent is. But not me. I am afraid of him.

And it’s time for a 40 yard (36 meters for non-American like myself) dash for everyone!

So, according to the manga at least, an average player takes 5 seconds to run 40 yards. And the record in high school is 4.4 seconds. How fast are our three favorite players?

Do you understand why I said Hiruma is scary? Dude has a fucking bazooka at school and no one can stop him.

Kurita is very strong but also very slow. Hiruma is slightly below average. Sena is average. Or is he?

Hiruma used his dog Cerberos to make Sena run as fast as possible. And we get to see Sena’s true speed: 4.2 seconds in a 40 yard dash! The NFL record in Scouting Combine for fastest 40-yard dash actually belongs to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross, who ran it in 4.22 seconds. But, Usain Bolt ties NFL combine record in 40-yard dash at 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta. And the retired Olympic sprinter did it in sneakers and sweatpants. It should be stressed that in 2017, Olympic sprinter Christian Coleman ran a time of 4.12 seconds on turf in response to claims that NFL players are as fast as Usain Bolt. Are we going to see players even faster than Sena?

I know it is a joke, but there is no way the tournament starts right after school has just began.

Chapter 3

In American Football, you need at least eleven players. As the team has already three players (Hiruma, Kurita and unwillingly Sena), they need 8 more players.

Expectation vs Reality

Sena and Kurita failed to recruit these two guys. Will Hiruma manage to do it?

Of course, he succeeded in that task. What did you expect? Hiruma knows everything in your life.

Sena recruited a member in the track club. This is Ishimaru’s first appearance!

But Ishimaru unfortunately has a part time job at the town magazine delivery.

That doesn’t mean Sena is ready to give up! Road to Christmal Bowl! Sena helped Ishimaru in his task and they finished early.

I like Sena and I love this speech. While Sena is again running for someone else, this time he willingly did it for the dream of his football team.

THEY DID IT! Okay Hiruma did almost everything by himself while Sena only managed to find one person and Kurita no one. BUT THEY DID IT.

Notice that Sena was finally ready to play if the team didn’t have enough players. Even if he didn’t want to play at all in the beginning. Sena slowly stopped being a coward and began to love American Football.

And this is Kurita’s penalty game because he gathered the least people (0)!

Chapter 4

Deimon’s first opponent is the Koigahama Cupids!

This is Ishimaru’s catch phrase before every game. Please remember that sentence!

All members of the Cupids have girlfriends and they are bringing them for the games. The Devil Bats players are pissed off and asked where are they cheerleaders.

Fortunately, Hiruma is there to save the day! All the opponents’ girlfriends decided to support the Devil Bats as cheerleader! But how did he get these photos?

Yeah, I think it would have been better if I didn't know. Poor Sakuraba, I wouldn’t like to be in his place. Oujou White Knights is Deimon’s main rival. Oujou and Deimon had a practice game, and Oujou won 99-0.

For non-American readers, this manga is a great introduction to American Football as you will slowly learn the rules while being entertained! For now, we learn how each team can score points.
