Chapter 33
Turns out Sasuke is actually alive!
And there is no asspull, the reason why he is alive totally makes sense.
Gatô is dead, but his soldiers are still in the bridge.
But Inari and the island have finally decided to take arms to fight.
The Great Naruto Bridge is built! The land of Waves can finally prosper.
After being brothers in the previous arc, now Naruto and Sasuke can barely talk to each other. Sakura finds that embarrassing.
Sasuke spitting some burns. While he is right, he is still an asshole in this chapter.
Konohamaru is back! And he is with two of his friends.
Naruto boasted that Sakura was his girlfriend. But Sakura was pretty mad because of what Sasuke said, so she beats the crap out of Naruto. It is sad that Sakura hits Naruto more than her enemies.
Iruka is such a good father.
Sakura hitting Naruto or being rude to him is one of the reason why the fandom hates her.
Konohamaru bumped into two foreigners.
Sasuke saved Konohamaru from Kankurô. Temari finds him "pretty cool". I find it annoying that every girl has a cruch on Sasuke. What's so awesome about him?
8 missions only? So after babysitting, running some errands, finding missing pet, weeding a garden, farming, and three other D-rank missions, you can be "ready" for the chûnin selection exam? Are you fucking kidding me?
What the hell is wrong with you, Kakashi?
Everyone finds Sasuke cool although he didn't do jack shit.
Kankurô is mad and wanted to fight, but Gaara stopped him.
Gaara is hyped by Sasuke to be strong as he is compared with Kakashi.
In this exam, they will be other villages. That's cool!
As always, everyone only cares about Sasuke and no one gives a shit about Naruto.
Another Genin team from Konoha makes their first appearance.
Kakashi is always late, and you know that, why are you even coming early?
Sasuke is also looking forward to this exam as he could fight against strong guys like Gaara.
But Sakura is not as confident as them.
The next day, Sakura looks depressed. Even Sasuke is worried about her.
Sasuke is nice in this chapter, why was he an asshole some chapters ago?
Rock Lee stops the fight between Sasuke and the other guy. While he didn't want to draw attention to himself, he changed his mind. Why? Because he wanted to impress a girl.
But Sakura rejects him.
Seriously, why is everyone sucking Sasuke's dick?
That's exactly what I think, Naruto.
Oh great. Another girl interested in Sasuke.
Now Sakura is no longer depressed. She is overjoyed while Naruto can't stand being in the shadow of Sasuke. It's always nice to see Sakura being kind to Naruto.
The battle is over. Tazuna and team 7 are alive and they won the battle.
RIP Zabuza. RIP Haku. I am sure you are both going to the same place on the other side.
Naruto matured a lot in this arc. When you compare the Land of Waves arc and Samurai 8 (Kishimoto's new manga in 2019-2020), you can easily see why Samurai 8 was a failure.
Chapter 34
Shut up Sasuke. Last arc, you saved "the twerp"'s life. And now you are being an asshole?
The two other genin teams appeared for the first time here. In the anime, they appeared in the introduction arc. Kishimoto probably didn't plan their designs in the first chapters.
YEAH A NEW ARC! Honestly I think there should have been at least one or two chapters with the team doing C-rank missions before. A chûnin exam seems a bit too soon. We only get to see Team 7 for one serious mission. How long was Kakashi their teacher? A few weeks?
On the other hand, Naruto also defeated a chûnin easily in the first chapter. So...
Chapter 35
So everyone will take part in the Chûnin Exam. However, Iruka disagrees with them.
And I agree with Iruka. It was way too soon for the 9 Rookies to take the exams. Kakashi for instance only taught them how to climb trees and how teamwork is cool. That's it. Sasuke has mental issues because of the destruction of his clan, Sakura needs more training as she is worthless in fights (he could have taught her some Genjutsu or elemental jutsu) and Naruto needs discipline.
Kakashi was pretty mean with Iruka. That's not cool man.
Temari is surpringly funny! But small reminder that she is currently fifteen and Sasuke twelve.
Oh some ninjas from another village!
Chapter 36
Kakashi recommended Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura for the Chûnin selection exam. And Naruto wants to be the best Genin.
Konoha and the other villages don't care about children being crippled for life. That's horrible.
Next chapter. Rock Lee VS Uchiha Sasuke.
