Chapter 26
After the serious arc with Grand Fisher that lasted a whole volume, we have a funny chapter with Kon!
Telling Ichigo to stop, Rukia reveals that she has brought the proper equipment to clean Kon, who expresses relief before staring in shock alongside Ichigo when Rukia brings out a push broom.
Target 1: Orihime.
Target 2: Orihime's friends!
Kon managed to go back home. This is why he ended with Yuzu.
Ichigo tried to stop Don Kanonji but he was caught by security.
Fortunately, Urahara was there and changed Ichigo into his Shinigami form. Rukia asked Urahara if he is scheming something.
Ichigo repeatedly slams Kon against the wall outside his window and explains that he is knocking the dirt out of him when Kon demands to know what he is doing. Ichigo is a dick.
Lying on the ground nearby, an irritated Kon wonders why they treat him like this even though he is their equal before deciding to leave in search of someone who will love him and provide a place where he truly belongs.
"Base-soccer"? That's original. I love Orihime and Tatsuki.
While Ryō stops in her tracks upon seeing him lying on the ground in front of her, Kon mentally encourages them to pick him up and take him home so they can take a bath together, only for Ryō to step on him while decrying him as a filthy stuffed animal, causing Kon to cry out in pain. With the surprised girls staring at him, Kon realizes that he just made a sound in front of them and wonders if they suspect something.
Chad is crazy about cute things, so he is also chasing Kon. That's way too funny!
In an interview, Kubo said that Chad likes music so he rarely watches TV, but the only program he likes the "Carnivor Kingdom" that starts at 8 AM on Sundays. He likes it so much that he bought the DVDs for it. And the phe plushie body of Kon is the fake copy of the main character of the popular TV show, "Carnivor Kingdom" named "Ponkichi" (Source). It comes therefore as no surprise that Chad was chasing Kon!
However, Kon is soon disappointed by Yuzu.
Soon afterward, Ichigo walks to his room after taking a shower, only to be shocked when Kon tearfully runs up to him in his new garments and apologizes for leaving before declaring that he likes Ichigo's room the best.
Chapter 27
We are now in Don Kanonji's mini-arc! This arc was... meh. It wasn't bad as seeing Ichigo and his friends fooling around was funny, but Don Kanonji is not a very interesting character.
I honestly don't know how this guy managed to be so popular.
Kubo, I am still waiting for Yuzu's spinoff as a magicial girl. I would read that!
Ichigo's friends (including Chad, which is quite surprising!) all like Don Kanonji and want to see him in his next show in Karakura town. Ichigo doesn't want to go even if Keigo managed to invite Rukia.
And wow, Rukia's acting skills are improving.
Ichigo finally decided to come as his father and his sister wanted to come.
Rukia is such a troll. She performed Don Kanonji's pose just to tease Ichigo but she didn't know what it was about.
Chapter 28
As you can see, Mizuiro is very popular to women.
An earth-bound spirit (Jibakurei) is in the hospital. Karin, Chad, Orihime and Tatsuki could all hear him, which is a nice foreshadowing for the next arc.
It is always nice to have more information about hollows. Hollows in Bleach are truly interesting!
While Ichigo explained to Rukia what the broadcast was about, Rukia still doesn't unterstand. She is cute.
Look at Ichigo! He thinks (like many of us readers) that Don Kanonji is cringy.
But it turns out that Rukia also likes Don Kanonji! Rukia's smile is so precious!
So that's why Rukia, who usually is very serious about Hollows, isn't worried about this spirit. Wait... If it takes months or even years for spirits to turn into a hollow, why the fuck are there even hollows? Shinigami have plenty of time to Konsô pluses! Like I've already said, Shinigami suck at their jobs.
Rukia then said that "Unless someone goes so far as to aggravate the open hole in his chest, he still has more than half a year until he becomes a hollow." But of course, Don Kanonji aggravates the hole.
Chapter 29
Rukia then tried to help Ichigo, but she failed.
Hmm... Pretty sure Urahara is lying. He looks so suspicious there.
Well, at least, Urahara is a funny guy!
So, Don Kanonji didn't lie, he really can see ghosts and Shinigami.
Suddenly, the Earth-bound spirit (Jibakurei) begins cracking and turning white, and as Ichigo realizes that it may be too late, the Jibakurei shatters with great force, leading Ichigo to express confusion at him not turning into a Hollow while Urahara watches from afar.
