Chapter 48
Yoruichi's first appearance! I love that cat.
Uryu initially refused but when Ichigo suggested that Keigo is treating, he accepted the offer.
WHAT THE FUCK ORIHIME?
FUCK YOU RENJI! He was fucking smiling when he tried to hurt a powerless Rukia. There is no way you can justify his actions. No way.
Rukia is revealed to be a member of a noble clan. There was some foreshadowing about that (in Chapter 2, it is said that Rukia is speaking in an old-fashioned way).
Again fuck you Renji! This chapter single-handedly made me deeply hate Renruki. He attacked Rukia for no reason.
Urahara is very suspicious there. It is obvious that he could easily kill the huge hollow, but he wanted Ichigo to fight it. Why?
The Menos Grande has arrived!
With hinsight, that page is hilarious.
The Menos Grande is really scary though, what with his appearance and the way he killed other hollows.
Whether he was meant to be good or evil, you can't deny that Urahara was a manipulative bastard here.
Ichigo's plan seems stupid, but I don't really think so. His plan is better than Uryu's one (aka. be scared and not doing jack shit).
Chapter 49
Although Shinigami and Quincy both uses spiritual power when fighting, they both have a totally opposite fighting style.
Orihime revealed that she never forgot that Ichigo in his Shinigami form saved her life. Rukia's memory change didn't work. She wondered what she should do.
This plan is hilarious but it could have worked. However, Ichigo said he never controlled his spirit energy.
However, there is no time left because the Menos Grande fire a Cero, a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy. Ichigo tried to repel it.
The analogy is a bit weird but interesting. Ichigo has a lot of potential, which could explain any future power-up. I don't know how strong Ichigo currently is, but it is implied that he could be much much stronger.
And Ichigo defeated the Menos Grande!
Chapter 50
The Menos Grande was wounded but not killed, so it decided to escape in a badass way."Boss really found the right person!" I don't know what he meant by that. Why did Urahara want Ichigo?
Ichigo falls to the ground. He says he can't move and his Zanpakutô is changing form.
Uryu decided to do his utmost to save Ichigo's life.
"Master... Today I saved a Shinigami. Can you forgive me for what I have done? I'm very useless. I couldn't even save you. Can you... Can you ever forgive me? Master..."
Well, that's a nice character arc for Uryu. Ichigo saved everyone's life and Uryu saved Ichigo. Uryu bears a lot of guilt after his Sensei's death (which is very similar to Ichigo's guilt after his mother's death) and wanted to avenge him. But he realized that he had risked the lives of a whole city and that his master wanted Quincy and Shinigami to fight together.
Chapter 51
Two Shinigami have arrived in Karakura Town!
"I fell from the stairs." Man, Ishida sucks at lying. That's surprising.
Ichigo and Rukia's friendship/love is too precious. However, Rukia is worried about something.
In the last chapter, Rukia notes that information as potent as a Menos Grande appearing in the Human World and being defeated will not take long to reach Soul Society. She knows something would happen.
Ichigo tried to be friend with Uryu.
Uryu initially refused but when Ichigo suggested that Keigo is treating, he accepted the offer.
Mizuiro ships IchiRuki but also IchigoxUryu.
THE CAT CAN TALK! Urahara's answer is so hilarious. "You want to talk about it now or wait until after you're done with your milk?"
Brushing off Yuzu's assertion that he is going to grow fat, Ichigo brings the food back to his room and announces that it is time for dinner to Rukia, only to discover that she is absent and assume that she took off again as he overlooks a note on his table from Rukia thanking him for everything.
On the street outside the Kurosaki Clinic, Rukia somberly looks back at the house before running down the street. However, the two Shinigami found where she was.
Chapter 52
And that's a lie. Whether or not you ship them, Ichigo and Rukia have a strong bond that can not be described as "just friends".
WHAT THE FUCK ORIHIME?
"All Shinigami shouldn't have these unnecessary feelings! Am I... getting too attached to this world?" Rukia
Rukia ended up loving the human world. She deeply cares about humans, and especially Ichigo. So she fears she can't cut herself from them all. As she is a Shinigami and not a human like them, she has to go back to Soul Society. But she is also worried for their lives as Rukia is in danger.
Of course, it seems very out-of-character for him to act like that. Maybe Kubo had still not decided what he should do with Renji, what his personality and motivations were.
Rukia's brother doesn't look like a nice guy. Rukia seems to be deeply afraid of him while Byakuya is looking at her with contempt.
So although it is a very serious sin for a Shinigami, Rukia decided to give Ichigo Shinigami power. She is the perfect incarnation of selflessness.
Renji said that "when you were being attacked before, you didn't escape. I let you escape! This time my attack will be serious." He wanted to be serious... against a powerless woman. Fuck him.
Fortunately, Uryu saved Rukia from Renji. Even Uryu said that Renji is an asshole because "a man with a weapon attacking an unarmed woman isn't a good scene to walk in on".
Next chapter: Uryu vs Renji!
