Chapter 37
Chapter 38
Lee's Sensei Gai Maito appeared!
Thank you Naruto for saying that Sasuke is overrated. But Naruto also got his ass kicked by Lee, so that's not really something he should say.
Nice page. I like seeing Team 7 together!
Chapter 39
Team 8's introductions again with Naruto's comments.
Kabuto decided to help the rookies by sharing info with these ninja cards. Sasuke asked the cards of Lee and Gaara. Lee is a monster of Taijutsu! And we don't know much about Gaara, but he did a B-Ranked mission and returned uninjured, so he must be strong.
Chapter 40
So they attacked Kabuto. They are overracting a bit too much. Just a bit.
The examiners arrived!
And the first part of the exam is.... a paper test! No seriously, what's the catch?
Rock Lee was definitely a weird guy, but Sakura is quite rude there.
As always, everyone is interested in Sasuke and not in Naruto.
Naruto tried to defeat Lee, but he couldn't do anything. Unpopular opinion: I think Lee really was the strongest Genin in Konoha at the time.
Lee vs Sasuke begins! This sounds interesting!
YEAH LEEE! So happy to see Sasuke finally get beaten after all this bullshit hype about him.
Lee is a master of Taijutsu! He is so fast that Sasuke can't keep up with him.
Rock Lee is the poster boy of effort! That's why I love this weirdo!
Lee was going to use a special technique against Sasuke but a turtle stopped him.
Lee's Sensei Gai Maito appeared!
Even Sasuke is disgusted by Gai, what the hell?
Gai is a better Sensei than Kakashi. But Kakashi is a shit teacher, so it is not really a contest. And Naruto seems to like Gai! It reminds me of a good fanfiction in which Might Guy trades Neji and Tenten to take Naruto and Hinata on his team.
Wow, Lee's Sensei is fast!
Gai is hyped to be even stronger than Kakashi. And I think it is the case, at least for now.
Thank you Naruto for saying that Sasuke is overrated. But Naruto also got his ass kicked by Lee, so that's not really something he should say.
Despite having no talents, Lee is acknowledged by Naruto and Sasuke for his efforts. That's nice.
Nice page. I like seeing Team 7 together!
""If I told the truth, Naruto or Sasuke would have pressured you and convinced you to take the exam. [...] But, you guys came on your will and I'm very proud of you guys. You're a team that I'm proud of. Now then, go on!" Kakashi
Wow, there's a lot of people there!
Naruto doesn't like Team 10 very much, "complaining idiot", "fatass idiot", "Sasuke's idiot".
Team 8's introductions again with Naruto's comments.
Kabuto has already taken 7th time the exam. The exam is held twice a year, so this is his 4th year.
87 genin from Konoha partipated in the Chûnin Exams. 30 from Suna. 21 genin from Ame, which is far more than the other minor villages. They are only 6 ninjas from Kusa, 6 from Taki and 3 from Oto.
Despite being one of the five main ninja villages, Suna doesn't have many genins taking part in the Exam. I think Suna and the other villages sent a limited number of Genins to avoid losing manpower. The exam is said to be deadly, there is no point in sending weak Genins.
Maybe the answer is simpler than that: Suna and the other minor villages are far weaker than Konoha. But I can't believe that Konoha has more genins who can become Chûnin than Suna, Ame, Kusa, Taki, Oto united.
Interestingly enough, the Anime in episode 23 changed the figures. Konoha has 72 (-15 ninjas) participants, Kusa 15 (+9) and Taki 12 (+6). I think it is better that way.
As there are many strong guys, Sakura thought Naruto was afraid and wanted to cheer him up. It is nice to see Sakura being kind and considerate to Naruto.
But, we are talking about Naruto. Of course, he isn't afraid of the other ninjas. He wants to become the Hokage!
The Genins of Oto are offended by Kabuto's remarks.
So they attacked Kabuto. They are overracting a bit too much. Just a bit.
Kabuto managed to dodge the attack... or not. What's the reason? We will know later!
These ninjas are assholes.
The examiners arrived!
The ninjas of Oto were not punished for their behaviors... What the hell?
And the first part of the exam is.... a paper test! No seriously, what's the catch?
The rules are:
1. Each one of you starts out here with ten points. The test has ten questions, each worth one point.
2. This written test is still a team event. Passing or failing will be determined by the sum of the point sheld by all three members of each cell.
3. If, during the course of the exam, a candidate does anything out of the ordinary, in other words anything that leads the proctors to determine that he or she has cheated... we substract two points off each member of the cheater's team.
