Chapter 55
Sasuke's brother Itachi destroyed the whole Uchiha Clan, so Sasuke wants to become stronger to kill him. Orochimaru gave Sasuke a "present" for his quest of power and wants him as a vessel to succeed him.
After Dosu and his teammates defeated Lee and Sakura, they are now going to fight aganist Team 10! Ino finally decided to save Sakura and Shikamura forced Choji to go with them. Choji seems to be a coward. But he becomes highly agitated when Zaku calls him "fatty"
The Ino-Shika-Cho formation is a reference to a card combination in the Hanafuda card game, Koi-Koi; Inoshikachō uses the Boar (猪, Ino), the Deer (鹿, Shika), and the Butterfly (蝶, Chō).
Chōji can expand other parts of his body to enhance his physical strikes, grab and crush targets, or make himself gigantic to smash them from above. He uses the chakra he stores to perform the body-expanding Multi-Size Technique, allowing him to use the Human Bullet Tank to run down his opponents.
As a member of the Nara clan, Shikamaru is able to manipulate his own shadow. By connecting his shadow to a target's, Shikamaru can use the Shadow Imitation Technique to restrain their movements and force them to mimic his own.
The Ino-Shika-Cho formation is quite interesting. It designed to use each member's abilities in the best way possible that complements the others'. All three members of Team 10 are skilled at stalling opponents.
But unfortunately for Team 10, Dosu and Zaku are assholes.
Team 10 is screwed. But Dozu and Zaku are (again) interrupted by other Genins.
Neji and Tenten arrive! The ninjas are quite unlucky to see so many Genins from Konoha.
Neji is pissed that Lee is wounded, so he wants to beat Dosu and Zaku. But Dosu asks him why he doesn't start doing something if he finds them so despicable.
Neji doesn't have to do anything as Sasuke is getting up.
Chapter 56
"Nothing to worry about. I feel fine. Strong. Bursting with power!" Sasuke
Sasuke seems to like Orochimaru's gift. He understands that he must do whatever it takes to gain power in order to kill Itachi.
Sasuke easily defeats Zaku and breaks his arms, while smiling like a psychopath.
Sakura manages to stop Sasuke's madness. Dosu is saved.
Even if he was talking about killing Kin earlier, Dosu seems to actually care about his teammates. He is calm and logical. He gives up the scroll, but that doesn't mean he is a coward. He very well realizes that he can’t beat Sasuke and doesn’t want his team to get hurt any further. Yet he leaves with a promise of another fight, leaving an ominous tone. Dosu is a very interesting villain, much more interesting than I remembered.
Naruto wakes up and is surprised to see Sakura's short hair.
Tenten thinks that Lee could defeat Dosu, Zaku and Kin all by himself if he wasn't distracted by Sakura.
Poor Naruto. That was mean. At least, it shows how Sakura cares about Lee now.
A few chapters ago, Sakura views Naruto, Sasuke and Lee as her teachers and wants them to look at her back and trust her to protect them. I'm happy to see Sakura grateful towards Lee.
"Sakura. The fighting Lotus of Konoha village will grow and flower again!" Lee
Tenten is pissed off. Maybe because she thinks that Sakura is a bad distraction for Lee?
Previously Orochimaru reactivates Anko's dormant Cursed Seal of Heaven, immobilising her with the pain, and warns her not to cancel the Chūnin Exams before departing. Despite the pain, Anko is eventually able to reach the centre of the Forest of Death. She convinced everyone that the exam had to keep going.
A proctor interrupts Anko and the black ops ninjas. He wants her to see a video. Also, the world of Naruto is way more advanced than I remembered.
Gaara and his teammates completed the second exam in just 97 minutes!
Chapter 58
Gaara is much stronger any Chuunin in Konoha! He is hyped to be the main antagonist of the arc. His teammates are also hyped to be quite strong.
Previously, Team 8 were lucky and managed to easily get the right scroll.
Team 8 detected six other Genins including Gaara. Kiba wants to take a look at their fight. They could steal a scroll so that more teams would fail. If things seem dangerous, they could flee.
That's ominous.
Three ninjas from Ame. Akamaru (Kiba's dog) is frightened of the "big one." Kiba wonders what the "little worm" (Gaara) is thinking as he is trying to take on adults. Hinata says that they all seem dangerous and strong.
Gaara wants to kill anyone who crosses him. Kankuro tries to control him, but Gaara doesn't listen to him.
But it is useless against Gaara, who decides to respond with a deluge of blood.
Gaara has the perfect defense!
Gaara quickly kills his enemy. He uses the parasol to avoid having blood on his clothes. Gaara is badass and dangerous, he is awesome!
Shigure's teammates to surrender their scroll in exchange for their lives.
Gaara wants to kill Team 8. By the way, why is Kiba and his teammates so close? Hinata has her Byakugan, Kiba has his dog and Shino his insects, they can see the fights from far away.
Kankura tries to stop Gaara. He wants him to listen to his big brother. But Gaara doesn't think that Kankuro or Temari are his siblings. He won't hesitate to kill them.
Temari also begs Gaara to stop.
Seriously Kiba, please learn how to better understand your dog. "The big is dangerous" has a very different meaning than "the big is in danger."
